&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; O S M O S I S‘Outer membrane that blows at me’ Material &amp; Sound research I asked myself what is the space we inhabit and that is really the body itself, how the skin becomes a portal connecting two parts and containing something "invisible". Then I started to explore that spatiality through an interpretation of the layers of the skin, its permeability and recognising sounds corresponding to different textures and grains. All of this using air, breath, breathing as a means of generating sound. Thinking that going through holes, portals, is when the portal really becomes visible and that through the sound which is generated by the crossing of the different axes/planes. It was an intuitive and very playful process which I enjoyed. I let myself go within the sounds that I had around me, the materials, the skin. I was experimenting, trying to create a layer, surface of different kind of densities of a sonic membrane. Exploring and combining the phonetic of the language with the sounds that I relate to that languaje. Something more subtil, more soft, more rough, wifi electronics frequencies that just appeared while doing the recording. Then with the voice, the wind, the breath, to perceive this passing through of a portal, of a gate which are the vocals strings and any kind of sound which is made by air, to graphicate this passing through. Even when I do the act of hearing and listening to what is coming into the recording device, it's the same, is passing through and because of that "hole" I can hear, I can "see" the sound which is appearing towards me, towards the present and keeping it, boxing it for a further combination. The intervention accentuates the broken part, the hole, the leak, from where the inside can come out to the outside. It portrays the invisible that exists inside each object. Objects that are static and that when placed somewhere visible begin to manifest the passage of time through this material that protrudes to the surface. Substance that has no form, but which is the basis of the image. The contextual focus here is on the juxtaposition of repetitive sounds and silence using physical element. Through the movement of the body, the sound objects and both the voice of the performers are brought into play so that the performance as well as its interactive character can be experienced. The aim is to offer an alternative view of the temporal component through the immersive staging and to create a communal experiment in which we as a community create and experience a multi-sensory staging together. The multi-sensory installation "Silent Soundscapes" is the second edition of the installation series Copula, which continuously discusses the ancient Egyptian understanding of the temporal dimension and analyzes different aspects of it. In terms of content, Copula highlights ancient Egyptian notions of time that break with the trinity of time we know today, represented by past, present, and future. That ancient Egyptian notion of temporal logic is divided into a two-dimensional understanding of completed and unfinished processes, called Neheh and Djet. Against this backdrop, the multi-sensory installation Copula offers an examination of the supposed temporal duality and invites us to experience an abstraction of it. The woven sculpture grows through the use of sound and light into an assemblage of diverse sensory experiences and is staged as a total experience.The temporal dimension is not an unchanging state, but a constantly ongoing cycle, which is perceived differently individually and socio-culturally. The installation Copula, which was conceived by Marie Akoury, is thus understood as a project series that enters into a new collaboration for each edition. The goal and concern of this installation series is to discuss new analyses and interpretations of temporal duality through collaborations with diverse sound designers. In the first edition "Weaving Time", exhibited in July 2021 at the former AEG plant Wedding, the focus of the staging was on the cosmological debate of cyclical and perpetual time. In the second edition "Silent Soundscapes" the two artists Marie Akoury and Cecilia Nercasseau Gibson will produce sound objects, which will be presented within a performance and at the same time interact with the woven sculpture and light sources in the space. The contextual focus here is on the juxtaposition of repetitive sounds and silence. The performance is held by the two artists and creates a ceremonial experience in which sound, light and haptics are brought to the forefront of the experience. Although the performance is directed by the two artists, the audience is invited to participate in the actuation of the sound objects. This interactive approach supports the immersive experience, in which the ancient Egyptian understanding of time is made artistically tangible. The installation series Copula serves as an examination of temporal duality and thus invites a change of perspective, which questions given structures of the oxidental order. In the second edition, the focus is particularly on the shared experience of the performance and its interactive character. We want to raise the awareness of the simultaneous cycles, patterns and rhythm of different scales surrounding and affecting us. By living in the state of ‘Slow Playground’, we will open our minds to be confronted with moments of liminality. The key into this space is to allow ourselves to slide in with naivety.Collective experience as a learning mechanism through different formats is used to capture the abstractness of the theme. Sprouting from the petri dish of the ‘Laboratory of Intelligence Culture’ and ‘Zooz Approach’ the concepts of ‘Navigation in uncertainty’ – as the fundamental experience of being alive. Not knowing is the norm upon which we explore anew, when we succeed. Questioning what is at the base of our beliefs. ‘Reflective autonomy’ – claiming the basic capacity to operate the power of one’s own reflective sense-thought and intuition, at times within and at times without the main stream. ‘Body follows mind’ – exploring a wide arch of untouched emotions and unmediated immersive experiences. It was observed that juxtapositions of living bodies could open a door into grasping the technology of scale. The most concrete form of an example of scales and the nearest celestial body to the earth is the moon, hence a journey into the theme arises from this standpoint. We ask ourselves, what can we learn from the relationship of the earth and its moon? What phenomenons are the source and result of the tension which holds these two bodies? We can only begin to understand the multiplicity of realities, how they come about and how they continue to co-exist within an algorithm of synchronicity which is invisible to the naked eye. Although we may not be able to plainly see it, these systems shape our perceptions and help us navigate the world. Therefore, it is important to understand this process of how we perceive the world.It was learnt that synchronicity has been an important part of humans since the late stone age through archaeological findings, how it was used as a survival response and how it became an advanced technology. Synchronicity was taught through rituals as a process of learning where a process of distinction where a change of consciousness is created through it. Arriving to today, in our data crazy society, there is extensive amounts of information constantly buzzing. This information suggesting synchronicity is often seemingly as a default and something we cannot choose. In fact, we should be asking ourselves, what is our agenda, as syncing is happening only as a byproduct of other agendas within the layers. Let’s tune out of all synchronicity we are aware of until all falls silent and further until we sense the sound of our biorhythm. When we are able to sense our status quo, we can recognise the fictional rhythm and therefore choose which of them we would like to dial back up.
