Installation in situ, collaboration with Sofía Nercasseau Gibson.
Albedo is the percentage of light that a planet can reflects.
Albedo is, in alchemy, one of the stages of transmutation of matter into gold.
Albedo is, therefore, the Observation that brings to the Finding; the mystery within the matter.
Albedo is a light installation that consist in gathering and merging reflective objects, forming something similar to a mineral. This mineral is suspended in the center of the cabinet by many black threads. Around them would be different spotlights that will produce in the object the Albedo phenomenon, bringing the light to the observer. We are interested in dazzle, to create an illusion of blindness to the observer. So then, when the eye is used to the light, it will reveal the details of the Finding. This Finding is the mineral that is compound of different fragments that we found during our drift along Berlin. Quotidian fragments as mirror, glass, metal and other bright ones, that when you merge and light up them, they take a value and presence as gold.
